AW12 Press Days

After inviting us to their fantastic show at London Fashion Week, Temperley hosted a press day where we saw the collection up close. Our favourite elements of the collection were fur, brocade, and embellishment that resulted in spectacularly opulent pieces. For some garments Temperley have worked embroidery over a trompe l’oeil print, giving a similar effect to the pieces embellished just with embroidery.
The Temperley collaboration with Barbour was also displayed. The British heritage of both brands is combined beautifully, with Temperly adding a twist of femininity and embellishment to Barbour’s eternal practicality.
We also took a peek into the newly expanded bridal room, full of pieces for a perfect wedding!

We were invited to view Victoria Beckham’s impressive fashion empire, showcasing her main and diffusion line, along with her array of accessories. From the main Victoria Beckham line we saw fantastic military detailing in tailored outerwear, gowns, and super high Louboutin shoes. The diffusion line incorporated a great selection of more wearable pieces – sunglasses, coloured denim, and amazing prints. We loved the swan collars!

At Alberta Ferretti we saw the main collection and diffusion line, Philosophy by Alberta Ferretti. Colourful fur, sheer fabrics, lace, metallics, feather details, and cut outs were all stand out elements of the main collection. And the exquisitely detailed gowns deserve their own mention, as they screamed opulence. The Philosophy line had lots to say about texture, one of the stand out pieces is a raincoat made from fur with a transparent plastic layered over. Embellishment, studding, and transparent materials are key elements of this strong diffusion line collection.
