Modernism meets romance for the new Yohji Yamamoto eyewear collection
Whether creating sculptural silhouettes or pioneering a new way of using materials – the Japanese master tailor is synonymous with innovation and rebellion. Bringing his discerning aesthetic to the world of eyewear, Yohji’s Fall Winter 18/19 collection strikes just the right balance between futurist form and modern romanticism.
Embracing high-tech materials including aluminum alloy, duralumin – in combination with titanium and custom acetate, the designer has constructed bold, playful shapes that bring the conceptual to the everyday.
The signature handwritten ”Y” logo and black and navy tones nod to the designer’s iconic archive, and are complemented by a soothing colour palette of white, gold, yellow and blue across the collection.
