10 questions with low key R&B prodigy Daniel Briskin

Daniel Briskin’s new single “Come With Me” is the kind of hazy, low-key R&B that is designed to keep you cool this summer. The 17-year-old’s second single follows on from “Colder Homes”, another stripped back jam, which features London rapper extraordinaire Alista Marq.

We caught up with Daniel to find out about the influence of Frank Ocean, crazy opportunities and Raf Simons. Get to know him below.

Describe your music in three words.

Soulful, relatable, honest.

Who is your greatest influence?

Frank Ocean is such a inspiring artist in my opinion.

Who was the last person you called?

Nathan Graves (management).

What did you talk about?

About how crazy it is that I got this opportunity.

Would you rather have time or money?

I think I’d have to pick time as I think life experience is so important.

What’s one item of clothing you couldn’t live without?

I’d have to say my Raf Simons Ozweego 3s. It’s rare you’ll see me without them. I just love the shape.

What’s the best way to spend £10?

I love finding old vintage pieces from charity shops. Everything you find has a story, so why not keep the story going.

How about £100?

On the other hand I love keeping up with whats going on in the fashion world. It would probably be spent in some sort of department store.

One album you couldn’t live without?

Blonde, 100%. I love melodies, and the way that melody is incorporated into this album is crazy. I’m not sure anything even comes close to it.

When can we hear new music from you?

In the next few months I’m gunna release my first EP, so ya know, look out for it.
