[D]esigner, activist and doyenne of punk Dame Vivienne Westwood is to be the subject of a new documentary to be aired in 2018. Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist will debut at the Sundance film festival and is set to build a portrait of Dame Viv via interviews with her friends, family and collaborators.
Known as one of the originators of the punk-rock fashion movement in the 70s after founding the iconic punk boutique SEX in West London alongside Malcolm McLaren. Her politically charged collections have now united critics in praise for four decades. Today she designs alongside her partner Andreas Kronthaler.
Alongside her influence in the fashion world, Westwood has also become a noted activist, going public with her support for animal rights charity PETA, critiquing the fast fashion movement, condemning fracking and once driving a tank past David Cameron’s house.
