Blood Brother’s SS17 lookbook is a throwback to a great British summer holiday
Impeccable workwear, alternative suiting and rainy beaches.
[T]his season, idiosyncratically British menswear label Blood Brother arc back to the forgotten days of a great British summer holiday. The collection, which features alternative suiting mixed with oversized hoodies, wide-cut workwear trousers, utilitarian buckle-fasting, postcard-embellished graphic tees and loose board shorts is based on the sentiment of taking a break. It’s like if bank holidays coincided with LCM and everything was tucked into trousers with the hems rolled up.
“Inspired by writing home on a postcard, rushing to a sun trap in the city, or making the most of a long weekend camping, this collection is a dedication to those making the most of a sunny day in an often rainy ‘Blighty’” said designers Nick Biela and James Waller. The designs, which suggest escape and relief from the drip and drab of everyday life are also rooted in ideas of memory too, hence the postcards and the melancholic title of the collection, “Nostalgia.”
