[W]hen All Saints announced their comeback album and tour earlier this year there was a sense that the internet’s 90s nostalgia obsession had reached a peak. Whilst everyone was busy digging out their combats and dusting off their Timberlands, though, All Saints were recording brand new music, eventually releasing the album Red Flag last week.
Rather than a love letter to past times, though, the album is full of forward-thinking pop tracks laced with the same killer harmonies that turned tracks like “Never Ever” and “Booty Call” into bona fide classics. “One Strike” is the first single from the album – here’s how it sounded when Melanie, Shaznay, Nicole and Natalie stepped in to the Hunger Studio.
Red Flag is out now here.
