Five pieces we love from the Vestiaire Collective x Byronesque pop-up

Vintage treasures from Jean Paul Gaultier, Maison Martin Margiela and Versace.

[A]ny discerning vintage shopper can tell you how hard it is to find iconic pieces from Maison Martin Margiela and Jean Paul Gaultier. You won’t find fashion’s holy grail looking in the £1 basket. The original Tabi boots? Versace’s safety pin looks from 1994? These rare and beautiful treasures are rarely found on shelves.

Now, thanks to a genius collaboration between Vestiaire Collective and contemporary vintage experts Byronesque, you can find over 200 pieces of carefully curated fashion history online. Launched on vestairecollective.com this week – the collection brings together pieces from the 1970s to the mid-2000s inspired by rebellion and subculture. Featuring covetable classics from designers including Comme des Garçons, Jeremy Scott, Maison Martin Margiela and Helmut Lang, the pieces have been selected by Byronesque founder Gill Linton.

Channelling London’s underground club scene of the 1980s, photographer Derek Ridgers has shot a darkly glamorous film for the collection which features a cameo from none other than Michele Lamy in Paris club, La Java. Watch the film and see our five favourite selections from the collaboration below.
