HUNGER PREMIERE: Kamille strips back new track ‘Emotional’

Stepping out from the wings and into the spotlight, Kamille has been ready to rise into stardom for a while.

Penning some of the major chart hits over the last few years, from co-writing Jess Glynne’s ‘I’ll Be There’ to Clean Bandit and Demi Lovato’s ‘Solo’, she’s proven herself to be one of the most sought after songwriters in the UK but also a vocal talent in her own right. Collaborating with the likes of Stormzy, Yxng Bane, 2 Chainz, Mabel and Jax Jones, Kamille is ready to stand forefront. Brought up immersed in music to a Cuban mother and Jamaican father, the artist blends diverse influences from Motown Records catalogues to Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. Embarking on her new journey, Kamille is ready to put her solo work out there, and her new track ‘Emotional’ proves just that.

Originally released as a energetic track featuring Kranium and WSTRN’s Louis Rei, Kamille has shared a raw acoustic version of ‘Emotional’ exclusively with HUNGER. Following up to her first single ‘Body’ and debut EP My Head’s A Mess, the new track is perhaps the most intimate yet, especially in its delicate stripped back form. According to the singer ‘Emotional’ in three words is “playful, sexual, and fun…it’s about that point when the desire two people have for each other can get too much to handle…” Just the artist and her piano in the bare adaptation, Kamille explains that “Emotional is such an important record for me because it represents my Caribbean heritage, it’s a piece of who I am.” Laying it on the line lyrically, her acoustic version celebrates the honesty and openness, as Kamille shows off her captivating vocal range and genuine musical skills.
