Your 'Fuck the Tories' bag is probably the most boldly political piece With everything going on with politics at the moment, it's a scary time. Especially for working class Northern families. What are your hopes for politics and how do you think fashion can inform young people and politics?
I was always teetering on the edge of making political statements in my graduate collection but it was always in the back of mind as i think it’s intrinsically within me from being from a working class northern family with a single mum and four other siblings. So the moment the snap election was announced I changed from indecision to knowing I definitely wanted to make a small statement.
My hope for politics is that people wake up to the fact that the Tory party have been fucking us over since 2010 and even more so since 2015. The mainstream media is so biased that I don’t even blame people for having no idea of what goes on behind the scenes and how many things the Tories are cutting and changing. I hope people are hungry for change and are sick and tired of how the government has been treating them for the last seven years. I hope that, like Brexit, people are angry with the establishment and want to have their voices heard.
I think that the Tories represent everything that is the establishment, I also hope people don’t believe all the negative press they read about Jeremy Corbyn and they read about his policies and Labour’s manifesto and that we can see things they believe in and vote for change.
