[F]ashion is in a state of flux, and nowhere is that more evident than in menswear. But that’s no bad thing. With streetwear ruling the catwalks, gender fluidity the the new norm and men borrowing styles from eras, icons and influences far and wide, menswear is freer than it has ever been before. And one brand that is heeding this change is Mennace, a brand that mixes high and low to create clothes than fit seamlessly into the varied and unique lifestyles of their wearers.
Founded by the team behind online giant Misguided, Mennace is looking to the next generation, and by the sounds of things, they’re just getting started.
What is it that sets Mennace apart from other menswear brands, what points of difference did it need to have from the beginning?
Mennace offers high fashion quality products at an affordable price. We are not the cheapest but we refuse to compromise on our quality, and we’re not afraid to push the boundaries with fashion. We are not also trying to do everything. We have a clear focus on who we are and deliver this with conviction.
Mennace combines smart and casual – do you think this sums up fashion today?
Yes completely, the catwalk now is now heavily influenced from the streets. Take the Supreme x Louis Vuitton collaboration as a perfect example of a smarts, casual mash up.
What do you think defines British menswear now?
Music culture, street style plays a strong role in how British men are dressing now. The average British man is more confident, daring and willing to explore and push the boundaries.
