Skaters Hunger TV mix by The Hunger on Mixcloud

Manhattan trio Skaters are certainly great advocates for patriotism – ‘everything about this band has been born, bred and inspired by New York’, they’ve recently said. And if you’re a fan of catchy Americana rock then you’ll be pretty pleased about this.

And while they profess undying love to NYC a little digging reveals that the boys have actually already had a taste of the rock n roll lifestyle on our own shores too – guitarist Joshua Hubbard played in the Paddingtons and Dirty Pretty Things, while lead singer Michael Cummings and drummer Noah Rubin were former members of Boston’s Dead Trees.

But before you fall in love with their debut single, ‘I Wanna Dance (But I Don’t Know How)’ listen to their exclusive Hunger TV mixtape – a tribute to classic rock with the likes of The Ramones and Elvis Costello with some eclectic newbies thrown in foe good measure.
