Last November we told you about an exciting collaboration between Dazed Vision and AllSaints; New Music Cities. The series seeks to explore different music scenes around the world and how they relate to the cities they exist within.
The first episode focused on New York, narrated by Richard Hell and featuring the likes of heavy metal trio Unlocking The Truth, psychedelic rock duo Starred, and indie band Widowspeak.
Now episode two brings things closer to home, focusing on the musical microcosm of south London. Hip hop pioneer Roots Manuva narrates while there are interviews and performances from Mount Kimbie, Katy B, hip hop and R&B vocalist Taniah and producer/singer/songwriter Kwes.
Future episodes will head to Gothenburg and Sweden featuring the likes of Frida Sundemo, The Embassy, Boat Club, DIIV, Emufucka, Sapphire Slows and Nissamondai.
Speaking about the collaboration between the brand and Dazed Vision, Will Beedle (Creative Director of AllSaints) explained:
“The whole premise of the New Music Cities series is to scratch the surface of the global music scene. By searching beyond the most-documented artists, we’ve been able to discover some incredibly exciting and daring musicians, operating for the love of connecting with their community. It’s this independent spirit and attitude, so prevalent in south London, that we feel fits both AllSaints and Dazed’s outlook on life in the city.”
