The collection riffed on this narrative. It was part sci-fi, part future retroism. Models with slicked down hair wore stiff high collared shirts poking out of utilitarian boilersuits or striped cardigans tucked into nylon work trousers. Leather short were paired knee high socks and boxy shirts carrying a rubberised Prada logo, the mark of a future uniform.
Imitating the comic book reality that they inhabited eerie cartoon strips appeared on shirts, bags and jacket panels, while thick black lines like those of a marker pen were inked down the sides of mint green and camel suits, making the models seem as though they had just jumped from the pages. Fabrics were structural and pragmatic, silhouettes were relatively simple, yet the collection was laden with complexity and depth; a Miuccua Prada speciality.
