The humble fashion film has evolved of late. No longer are we satisfied with a beautiful woman/man in beautiful outfit swaying nonchalantly to a beautiful soundtrack; that’s so fashion film 101. Instead fashion films are gravitating more and more towards narrative structures, complete with A-list casts, dialogue a plenty and, well, an actual point. Already this year we’ve had stellar examples from Prada, whose Wes Anderson short Prada L’Eau had us all chuckling, and Rodarte, who took the sci-fi route with This Must Be the Only Fantasy. And now Salvatore Ferragmo are the latest fashion brand to release their film, Walking Stories starring Kaya Scodelario and Tom Ellis.

Directed by Luca Guadagnino, Walking Stories is a romantic comedy that travels through cities relevant to Salvatore Ferragamo’s history, from LA where he became ‘shoemaker to the stars’, to Florence where he returned in the 1920s. The love story is full of unexpected twists, revelations and coincidences, and even features a cameo from legendary Hollywood actress Lauren Hutton.

The film will be released in eight parts twice a week from today and can be viewed on the Salvatore Ferragamo website. Who needs TV anyway?

We caught up with Andrew Rogers from McQ and Yassine Saidi at Puma, to talk about their exciting new collaboration.

Chanel: It wasn’t long ago we saw Chanel-clad models strutted down the super market aisles for Paris Fashion Week, and this time we see Cara Delevingne and Binx Walton take to the boxing ring in the new ad campaign. Karl Lagerfeld is known for his unusual location choices –a recent one was taking his cruise location to Dubai– so this one was to no surprise. Cara Delevingne, a regular with kick boxing sessions at NYC’s Gotham Gym, is a natural fit in this campaign shot by Karl Lagerfeld himself.
