Step inside Hunger’s fashion director’s first exhibition

Ever wondered what happens at a Hunger fashion shoot? Well wonder no more as starting today Hunger’s fashion director Kim Howells stages her first exhibition, taking viewers inside the action.

From today until Thursday 28th June the exhibition, titled Watch This Space, will take place at the Olumide Gallery and will see Howells stage three shoots across three days. To kick off proceedings Howells will team up with photographer William Pine to shoot portraits of some of her favourite people in London, those that capture the city’s diversity, style and quirks, and make up the bubbling melting pot that is London’s fashion scene.

Day two sees Howells and photographer Benjamin Madgwick pair up to shoot the AW18 Masha Ma collection, one that our fashion director feels encapsulates the “boundless creativity of fashion”, while the final day looks to the next wave of fashion talent with a selection of looks from some of the UK’s best new fashion graduates including Central Saint Martins’ Harry Freegard and Middlesex’s Connor Baxter and Maddie McGhee.

Throughout the three day process members of the public will be invited into the space to watch fashion at work, ask questions and gain an understanding of the intricacies of a live photoshoot. On Thursday evening all photographs taken will be displayed in the gallery alongside music and drinks. And if you still can’t make it, all the shoots will be live on Hunger TV in the coming weeks. See you there, and in the words of Kim Howells, it’s gonna be maje.

Watch This Space by Kim Howells runs from 26-28th June at the Olumide Gallery, 1 Riverlight Quay, SW11 8AN
