The 20-year-old singer-songwriter, who started her own record label three years ago – a platform that allowed her to tour, and release EPs online – before signing to Parlophone in 2012, comes across, curiously, as both naïve and wise beyond her years.

Although she has written music since the age of 15, and has already completed six solo tours, it was her acoustic cover of “The Power of Love”, for last year’s John Lewis Christmas ad, that really earned her the attention of the masses. This recognition, she hopes, will grow with the release of her debut album, English Rain, due to come out this year.
