This new photobook explores the extremities of erotica
Amy Hood's VISCERAL is a visual study of human relationships.
[A]my Hood’s gothic retro-fetishism – think 70s soft porn meets underground B-movie – first caught our eye when she published Cult Classic earlier this year. That book explored sex, violence and witchcraft, combining (and perhaps enhancing) the eroticism with the latent threat of physical pain and Manson family vibes. Hood’s new book, VISCERAL departs from Cult Classic, exploring – via contributions from the likes of Enga Purevjav, Kirsten Bode and Michael Donovan – the psychology of intimacy and the broad spectrum of human relationships.
Erotica is interspersed with scenes of riot police. Abstract crops of human bodies are obscured with splashes of dark ink, sex scenes refuse to conform to Hollywood narratives… see the promo film for the book above and see a selection of images in the gallery below, then pre-order VISCERAL right here.
