The Simpsons collaborates with Virgil Abloh for Off-White SS19

"I’m Bart Simpson, who the hell are you?"

Always thinking outside the box, Virgil Abloh has brought us another wild collaboration for his SS19 collection for Off-White menswear: The Siiiiiimpsons (cue theme song 🎶). Summing up the designer’s love of all things youth culture, ultimate teen rebellion icon Bart Simpson himself skateboarded his way through the Paris Fashion Week show. Explaining his love for “the rebel without a cause” image, he believes that “Bart Simpson is the face of that”.

Plastered on t-shirts and hoodies, featuring some of his notorious catchphrases – “I’m Bart Simpson, who the hell are you?” – it was a classic homage to the freedom of youth, and Abloh’s own freedom at Off-White. Explaining that he grew up with The Simpsons and the messages it put across, the creative director explained “I was born in the 80s and this was in the 90s…It was like an ode to the teenager”. Our highlight of a playful, artistic collection, there was plenty for everyone: denim, Dr Martens, signature straps, and powerful pops of colour. Bart would be proud.

Check out the full show online here and stay tuned for Virgil Abloh’s debut at Louis Vuitton menswear on 21st June at 1:30pm.
