How does it feel creating art in the current political climate?
Humbling and empowering. Creating a platform for women to share their stories, express their opinions about football and fashion, and connect with each other that seems to be resonating is a wonderful feeling. A positive result from the election of President Trump and Brexit is that more of us are educating ourselves and are actively, vocally and creatively standing up for what we believe in.
How do you feel social media is affecting artistic outlets like zines?
I think it raises more awareness about the creation and the message. You reach more people worldwide than the printed zine could (if printed in small runs) and also allows instant reactions and connections to be made and measured. It helps strengthen the community being built as we’re strongest together and social media makes it so easy to get involved. It’s also another medium to use to bring your zine to life.
