Topman debuts triple denim and acid rave for aw17
Wildin' for AW17.
[F]or Aw17 Topman invited us to The Fuzzy Duck, a place that sounded like a student pub but more closely resembled Manchester’s iconic Hacienda. The stark industrial space was furnished with industrial paraphernalia as 90s house inspired beats pounded through the speakers and AW17’s sweaty ravers walked in neon hues and triple denim.

What they said: ‘The clothes are heavily influenced by the punning and clubbing scene and feature pub paraphernalia and hand-drawn prints throughout as well as 90s rave graphics and neons.’

What the audience said:
Our verdict: If Topman is the bellwether of AW17 then Fashion’s obsession with the 90s aesthetic is still going strong. Most notably in baggy jeans, triple denim, bucket hats, neons and the generally dishevelled/sweaty nature of this season’s boys only adding to the early hours vibe.
As ever with Topman there was variety – embellished knitwear, tailoring layered with sportswear and though the acid-race aesthetic returned with a bang in full neon looks. Youth culture undeniably continues to reign supreme.

Best moment: TRIPLE denim of course!

Who walked: high-cheekboned boys who hadn’t been to bed yet.
