Urban Jazz visionary Louis VI takes his last breath on new single “Floatin’”
Feat. Jelani Blackman.
[L]ondon’s Louis VI channels his strong influences and emotional struggles on his stunning new track “Floatin’”. The hazy hip-hop grooves of De La Soul or A Tribe Called Quest (introduced to Louis by his mother) combine with the blunt lyricism and economic delivery of Gil-Scott Heron on a track that describes the drowning feeling of a collapsing relationship. Rapper Jelani Blackman’s intervention, meanwhile, adds another layer to the story.
The track comes accompanied by a hypnotic video that captures Louis about to take his last breath. Check the visuals out below and follow Louis VI here.
