Trust by The Hunger on Mixcloud

This week’s weekend mix comes from an artist that we’ve had our eye on for a while – Canadian dark synth pop act Trust, aka Robert Alfons, who first released a track in 2010 and dominated interent airwaves pretty much ever since. Get to know which artists float his boat in this mix and find out a little more about Robert below.

WHEN DID YOU MAKE THIS MIX FOR US?

I made this mix while on tour in Europe. They’re all part of this hazy dream driving through all the neon.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO PURSUE MUSIC?

My older sister’s piano playing and record collection, my aunt’s car stereo, and the show My So Called Life.

CANADA IS PRODUCING A LOT OF CREDIBLE ARTISTS RIGHT NOW, IS IT HAVING A ‘MOMENT’?

There’s always been lots of really exciting music coming out of Canada, but I grew up here so I’ve always been a part of it. When I moved to Toronto I was so lucky to discover so many great artists and performers that have continued to inspire me.

WHAT WAS THE LAST ALBUM YOU DOWNLOADED?

Skinny Puppy’s ‘Best of’.

WHAT SONG DO YOU WISH YOU’D WRITTEN?

‘Moonlight Desires’ by Gowan.

WHOSE MUSIC DO YOU MOST CLOSELY IDENTIFY WITH?

Burial’s music just makes sense to me in every way, he’s an utter genius!

WHAT ARE YOU HUNGRY FOR?

More time with my book!
