So what's the best way to spend £10?

Cat Burns’ recent single “Sober” is all about part-time guys who send drunk texts. The song’s lyrics are layered over a pop beat that combines afrobeats influences with classic R&B stylings. Relatable but progressive, “Sober” is the blueprint for Burns’ intentions to make music that is both bracingly honest and sonically original.

It’s the first release in 2018 from the South London artist and it now comes with a late-night neon video that sees Cat flipping through the texts on her phone dismissing the lame dude who won’t call in the daytime. We Facetimed because it was her first full day in her new flat for University! 

Would you rather have time or money?

I think I’d rather have time, so I could spend it with the people I love. 

What’s one item of clothing you couldn’t live without?

A hoodie, always and forevermore.

What’s the best way to spend £10?

For me it’s a Nando’s. 100%.

How about £100?

Treat yourself to some clothes you’ve wanted or book a weekend trip to somewhere out of London. Definitely something spontaneous!

One album you couldn’t live without?

In terms of recent music it would have to be ‘H.E.R.- Volume 1’ 

What’s happening next for you?

I’ll definitely be releasing more new hopefully relatable music very soon, but next up is the live acoustic version of ‘Sober’. This is coming out very soon!
