A ‘Sex and the City’ Reboot Is In the Works

Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda are reuniting one last time *sans* Samantha.

As it turns out, our problems didn’t automatically evaporate as the clock struck midnight on 1 January 2021. Sadly, 2020’s baggage hasn’t just followed us into 2021 mutated into something even worse, at least if the last few days have been anything to go by.

Thankfully, HBO Max has revealed that it will be on hand to help distract us from our busy schedule of doomscrolling and existential crises. Namely, the fabulously attired (and at times problematic) women of Sex and the City will be returning to our screens once more.

The news broke last night (10 January) as Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis posted a teaser trailer for the new series, titled And Just Like That…, on their Instagram pages. Notably, Kim Cattrall was absent for the announcement after making it plain in interviews over the years that she has little interest in reprising her role as Samantha Jones.

The ten-episode reboot will see Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda navigate life and love in their fifties, with shooting beginning in late Spring in NYC (where else?).
