Angelina Jolie and Chloé are launching an evening wear womenswear collection

The star’s new venture into fashion will see her own fashion brand, Atelier Jolie, work with luxury brand Chloé on a capsule collection.

Angelina Jolie recently announced that she will be launching her own new fashion brand called Atelier Jolie, which she hopes will form a “creative collective” and champion independent tailors around the world. Now, Jolie has revealed that her new brand will be teaming up with the French luxury fashion house Chloé to launch a capsule womenswear collection.

This collection has been co-designed by both Jolie and the brand’s creative director Gabriela Hearst – despite reports stating she may be departing her role very soon. Perhaps a last project for the head of Chloé, this partnership will rely on the house’s “network of international makers”, which is a similar ethos to Atelier Jolie’s collective outlook. The statement released today also specifies that this will incorporate “a higher percentage of lower-impact materials than any previous collection from the Maison.”

The designs in the collection will mostly feature eveningwear, with inspiration coming from Jolie’s own extensive wardrobe and red-carpet looks. Garments will spotlight the work of artisans across the globe, in particular, female-led social enterprises that utilise deadstock materials in their work.

A desire to work with the luxury brand for Jolie is their recent achievement of receiving a B Corp status. This means that Chloé has met high standards on performance, accountability, and transparency with the likes of employee benefits, charitable giving, and supply chain practices. “Very few luxury brands are certified B Corp. It was important to me to work with Chloé, one of the first luxury brands to be a B Corp,” she said in the statement. “My earnings from this collaboration will be invested in establishing apprenticeships for tailors and artisans at Atelier Jolie.”

Hearst backed this sentiment up, praising Jolie in the statement by saying: “From the moment I heard about Angelina’s vision for Atelier Jolie, I believed in it. It is a way to elevate others through the beauty of garment-making and her deep respect for the environment. It’s an honour for me that Chloé will be the first collaborator for Atelier Jolie, as both have high ideals for the betterment of our species.”
