DIY avant-gardist Madge is back with a meta surf video to propel you into the second half of summer. The track – “Blueblood” – is a crossover banger combining Madge’s house-heavy production and shimmering chorus with verses from progressive Brooklyn rapper Orrin.
The video features Orrin, self-directed, in slim-fitting surfwear carrying his bodyboard along a deserted New York beach holding the camera aloft via selfie-stick. Meanwhile, Madge’s spooky silhouette, abstract portraits and a tarot deck appear to make it feel as though tumblr made a surf video with creative direction from a medieval witch.
