Billie Eilish will make her acting debut tonight in new Childish Gambino series

The 21-year-old singer and songwriter will mark feature in an unannounced role in a new Amazon Prime series.

At just 21 years old, it’s safe to say Billie Eilish is making quite a splash with her musical talent. But that’s not all the award-winning singer has to offer, as she will soon be delving into the cinematic world with a new role in an Amazon Prime series about a woman whose pop star obsession takes a dark turn.

Co-created by Donald Glover (Childish Gambino) and Janine Nabers, the series is inspired by the Beyoncé fandom, and will detail the dark and twisted world of a violent stan named Dre, who will be played by Dominique Fishback. In the trailer, Eilish pops up as one of many unexpected actors who encounter Fishback’s character. The new teaser from the show has been released on Amazon Prime Video’s socials, with a bleach-blonde bright blue-eyed Eilish hypnotically talking to Dre, as she clicks her fingers and quietly whispers to her.

The series will follow Dre through a dark journey across the country as she battles this unhealthy obsession, coming across unexpected trauma with her sister Marissa (played by Chloe Bailey). Other actors that will make an appearance include Damson Idris, Kiersey Clemons, Paris Jackson, and Rickey Thompson.

For Eilish, this will mark her first major role after appearing in several music documentaries and voicing her own The Simpsons character in the short ‘When Billie Met Lisa’. It was casting director Carmen Cuba who added her to the series, knowing the Happier Than Ever singer was keen to get into acting.

This antihero tale has received a lot of buzz around its release in the US today, with rumours even swirling that Malia Obama (daughter of Barack Obama) is credited as a writer on the series. And as excited fans speculate as to what Eilish’s role is – from all-female cult leader to crazed therapist – the time is now to catch her debut role on Amazon Prime.
