Biomech Changed My Life — a new exhibition from Daniel David Freeman

The artist’s new show launches at Gallery 46 tonight…

Daniel David Freeman’s recent exhibition, BIOMECH CHANGED MY LIFE, explores biomechanical art (biomech) through the lens of collage and print.

Launching today at Gallery 46, the show brings together a range of artists, including Jesse Pimenta, Sam Coldy, Jack Sacks, Will Samuel, Sara-Lovise Ewertson and Patrick Savile. Combining the instinctive punk style at the core of his work with his futuristic vision, what Freeman has created is, on the face of it, neo-futuristic, dark tones that explore the capabilities of biomech art.

But if you’re not wised up on the world of biomech art, the simple, Wikipedia explanation is this:

Biomechanical art (also called Biomech) is a surrealistic style of art that combines elements of machines with organics. Rendered with distinct realism, biomechanical art expresses an internal fantasy world, most typically represented with human or animal anatomy where bones and joints are replaced with metal pistons and gears, but infused with muscles and tendons.

Head down to Gallery 46 from the 10th to the 20th of February to find out more about how Biomech changed the London-based artist’s life…
