Stop everything that you're doing. This is not a drill. The (new) twitter account, @shopbeyonce released a video and, as alway, Beyonce has fans anticipating a new clothing line.
This is not the first time that Beyoncé has disrupted the ether with a cryptic release. A twitter account has just surfaced under the handle @shopbeyonce (minus the é) releasing a 17 second video followed by the date June 11th. Now, yes, it could well be more merch and an announcement of a new European tour, but that’s not realistic. In March 2019, Beyoncé released merch coinciding with the Netflix hit, Homecoming: A film by Beyoncé that provided behind the scenes footage of the acclaimed, 2018 Coachella performance that took place in April. However, as with all of the Queen Bey’s tours a carefully curated selection is available to purchase over at shopbeyonce.com featuring, hoodies, t-shirts and exclusive bundles. Yet, this new iterations seems very different.
The singer/songwriter is no stranger to the luxury fashion discourse as cofounder of the Ready-to-wear label that herself and mother, Tina Knowles Lawson incepted in 2004. With many of the naughties brands making a sharp return such as,the urban luxe label, Baby Phat, by legendary 90s supermodel and Lagerfeld muse, Kimora Lee Simmons. As well as the success of Rihanna’s eponymous Fenty line that was released in May 2019.
Could this be a return to House of Deroen Bey, Ivy Park Bey, merch, or the Adidas partnership that we’re yet to know more of? Either way, Beyonce said June 11th, so get your money right people!
