Collaboration connoisseurs Elton John and Britney Spears are joining forces

And the song ‘Tiny Dancer’ is set to hit us (baby) one more time...

Somehow, in 2022, the coolest collab we’re all buzzing to see is from pre-noughties pop royalty Elton John and Britney Spears. The duo reportedly met at a Beverly Hills recording studio last week to record a new version of the 1971 hitTiny Dancer’.

And it’s not the first time the classic record has been taken for a new spin, so Spears will have her work cut out if she’s to match the magnitude and impact of some of the previous renditions. Red Hot Chilli Peppers famously covered the essential tune during a performance in 1998, while Florence + The Machine and Tim McGraw also put their mark on the anthem, each with varying degrees of success.

Spears and John are no strangers to era-defining, colossal collabs. Spears has worked with just about every notable name in the industry since her debut in 1998, with the Madonna-assisted hit, ‘Me Against The Music’ perhaps being her most iconic. The pop star has also joined forces in the studio with the likes of Pharrell Williams and Sabi, even stepping into the modern pop world by partnering up with Iggy Azalea in 2015 (the less said about that one the better).

The Rocket Man is arguably more seasoned, picking up features like they’re going out of fashion. Whether it’s legendary cuts with Kiki Dee or contemporary smash hits with Dua Lipa, John’s collaborative efforts have provided us with some of the most magical moments in music history…and actually beyond, who can forget the Elton X Palace fashion collab earlier this year.. Let’s hope this Spears assisted effort is the latest of his successes, rather than an, erm, ‘Toxic’ partnership.
