Could Harry Styles secretly be bald? TikTok seems to think so

Follow HUNGER's in-depth investigation into one of this year's biggest mysteries.

Besides being a beloved popstar, actor and fashion icon, Harry Styles also has luscious locks that almost seem too good to be true — well, according to TikTok, Styles has no hair at all…

TikTok is a place where anything goes, in just one scrolling session you could meet kids who believe they’re from Atlantis or find yourself lost in an endless black hole of conspiracy theories until 3 am. While those conspiracy theories are usually on the more serious side, this one shouldn’t freak you out too much. Unless, of course, you’re a Styles stan, in which case I’d probably look away now.

So, let’s get into this investigation. You’ve probably heard of Deuxmoi, which is an Instagram account dedicated to sharing unconfirmed celebrity gossip through email and DMs. The account shares everything from A-lister public sightings to potential celeb flings. However, some submissions only provide a slither of information and thus begins an internet-wide game of celebrity “Who’s Who?”

Now, pull out your magnifying glass and get those latex gloves on because here’s where the real detective work begins. In May, an anonymous submission was shared on DeuxMoi’s Instagram stories. It read: “This A-list musician/ occasional actor has a dirty little secret he hasn’t shared with fans. Literally! He has gone almost completely bald. his hairpiece is so lifelike that only a good eye could pick it out, and that’s on a bad day.” The gossip was posted under the title “Hidden Hollywood hairline.”

After this was posted, the account asked users to stop sending emails about Machine Gun Kelly’s hairline, implying that a lot of people think they found the toupé-wearing culprit. The theory seemed like it held up, considering Machine Gun Kelly is a musician and actor. However, shortly after, a person who claimed to have sent the original email vetoed it. “I sent that email and it’s not about MGK,” they wrote, which only led to more theories.

Of course, nothing Deuxmoi posts is verified, not even close, so this could easily just be another ridiculous internet rumour from a 15-year-old with too much time on their hands. Also, submissions are sent via a form, so a user could easily use a fake email address, which makes it impossible to fact-check.

Thankfully, we may have found a saviour, a platform that can answer all of our wildest questions. TikTok. Widely revered as having one of the finest user bases when it comes to online investigation, we’re honestly surprised the CIA hasn’t started plucking up these TikTok detectives. TikTok was the first platform to suggest the mystery celeb was Harry Styles with user @abbi.henry posting her theory on July 7th, a video that has now racked up five million views.

In the video, she goes on to explain her thinking behind the revelation. “He did say [that] when he goes out in public and doesn’t want to be spotted it’s really easy to do”, Abbi says, explaining that the best way to do that would be to have no hair. Considering that Harry’s waves are so infamous, the theory grabbed attention, and since then, videos from fans analysing fancams at Styles’ recent tour dates across Europe have gone viral. In the slowed-down clips Styles’ hair eerily seems to come away from his entire head.

So, now time for the question you’re all wanting the answer for. Is Harry Styles really bald? The short answer is most likely not. Have you seen the way Styles flails his hair around on stage? If it was a wig it’d most likely already be in the arms of a fan. But we still have one question left to answer, if it’s not Styles with the wig then who is it? Justin Timberlake?
