Drama Call takes blokecore to new heights with their Manchester United and adidas collab

The three companies have released their blue away jersey iteration after teasing fans with ‘Made in Manchester’ posters.

World-famous football club Manchester United has teamed up with sportswear giant adidas and Mancunian streetwear brand Drama Call. Just over a week ago, the three unveiled co-branded posters that were spotted around the city of Manchester reading ‘Made in Manchester’, and now the collab has brought fans the official first look at the garments.

With an official trailer also under their belt, this first look shows a fresh version of the Manchester United away jersey from 1988. ‘Drama’ is written up the side of the blue jersey, with the Man U crest, sparkle detail (seen across a lot of the brand’s tracksuit designs), and a flat white collar to finish. On the back of the jersey reads ‘1988-2023’, aiming to celebrate the club’s history and influence on the sport, as well as mark a new era for United fans.

It is replicated on the iconic 1988 third kit, with the blue jersey and subtle MUFC jacquard stripe print also taking on the club’s old crest. The adidas logo references the design of the late 80s, with the Sharp shirt sponsor making an appearance.

More designs are predicted to be released in the coming weeks, and fans are speculating on how the co-branded garments will tap into the skate culture inspiration that Drama Call usually takes. The brand teased a release date in the coming weeks, but we are placing our bets on what this homegrown drop will truly hold.
