Angelica Hicks, Unskilled Worker, Rosalind Shrinivas: fashion illustration is having ‘a moment’ on the ‘gram. An upcoming exhibition, Drawing on Style, takes us back to the golden age of illustration. From Antonio Lopez’ electrifying work capturing New York’s cool crowd in the ‘60s and ‘70s to Karl Lagerfeld early sketches; explore the extraordinary talents of leading fashion artists of the 20th century, including rare and previously unseen original works by masters of the genre.
The exhibition aims to showcase the extent to which “illustration has played a key role in influencing style and has helped build and enhance the reputation of the great houses of couture. These drawings are immediately recognisable to generations of fashion followers.”
