Enough is Enough: Here’s how you can protest the cost of living crisis this weekend

A real pay rise. Slashed energy bills. An end to food poverty. Decent homes for all. Taxation of the rich. Use your voice and protest for these fundamental rights tomorrow.

Britain seems to be in a perpetual state of unrest at the moment. The cost of living crisis is only growing more prominent by the day, Kwasi Kwarteng’s mini-budget has caused mass uproar, even within his own party, and somehow there are still people mourning the Queen’s death.

So, it comes as no surprise then that this weekend, the public is fighting back with a national day of action. The Enough is Enough campaign was put together to fight the cost of energy bills, end food poverty, and tax the rich, amongst other goals, and will be protesting across various locations tomorrow. According to their website, the group was founded by trade unions and community organisations determined to “push back against the misery forced on millions by rising bills, low wages, food poverty, shoddy housing – and a society run only for a wealthy elite.”

Unfortunately, as this new government has proved like most before them, they’re completely inadequate, and it’s yet another stark reminder that the establishment does not have an ounce of empathy for those struggling. This isn’t about politics anymore, it’s about basic human needs, and clearly, we can’t rely on the establishment to provide support if they’re more worried about reducing taxes for the rich.

If you’re struggling to cover your bills, or are even just concerned with how this incompetent Tory government will progress, why not join the protests that will be taking place up and down the country on October 1st? Scroll on for a comprehensive list of locations and times.
