It hasn’t taken long to get Nicki Minaj out of retirement. Fresh from announcing her plans to leave music, Ms. Minaj returned to dropping bars this week on ‘Fendi’- a bombastic ode to the Italian maison, with PnB Rock and Murda Beatz.
Dripping in monograms as she reclines poolside in LA surrounded by her girls, the Steven Klein directed visuals for the song previewed on Instagram, are in fact the perfect tease – as next month the rap legend is releasing her very own capsule collection with Fendi.
Designed as unisex, Fendi Prints On is Nicki’s most flamboyant foray into fashion so far. Working closely with Silvia Venturini Fendi, to create the collection, Minaj has set out to bring her signature humour and flair to play with Fendi’s familiar design codes.
The previews shared so far suggest that her trademark pink will feature heavily across the collab, alongside metallic FF printed bomber jackets, cut out dresses, oversized sunglasses and monogram bikinis. There’s plenty of athleisure too – with logo emblazoned tracksuits, bum bags and silver toned sneakers.
It’s hard to imagine a more iconic match than this – and no doubt the Barbz will be waiting in line for the drop.
The full Fendi Prints On collection will launch on fendi.com and in boutiques worldwide from October 16th.
