Fendi is introducing yeast chic with their fuzzy baguette bags

Offering a playful take on the brand's classic Baguette bags, the accessories come in various forms, including an umbrella holder.

Fendi’s quintessential Baguette bags have become a fashion staple ever since Silvia Venturini Fendi introduced them to the world in 1997. But now, the designer is taking things one step further by creating clutches that are, well, quite literally shaped like a French baguette.

The designer showcased her Fall/Winter 2023 menswear collection for the house at Milan Fashion Week Men’s, delivering looks centred around “sophisticated comfort.” The cosy yet striking menswear collection featured oversized outerwear, cold-shoulder sweaters and standout accessories, including baguette–shaped designs.

Although the classic Fendi Baguette saw a revamp with various utility pockets added, it was the yeast-based fuzzy accessory that caught the attention, as the bag was seen poking out of woven cashmere bucket bags – while another iteration saw it used as an umbrella holder. Soggy bread, anyone?

Never before has bread been so effortlessly versatile, and given the fashion world’s infatuation with the utterly bizarre, the wacky accessory will undoubtedly be one of the year’s most talked-about designs. Fans are already losing it on Twitter after its revelation, with one user writing, “I’M SCREAMING,” while another added, “I am doing my best to not buy this LITERAL Fendi baguette.”

You can expect to see these bread-inspired accessories launch later this year in the Fall 2023 season – when they’ll no doubt be plastered all over our Instagram feeds.
