Feng Chen Wang brings the spirit of the East for this season’s collection

The amalgamation of East and western aesthetics fuse to convey one cohesive message of craft and sustainability

Feng Chen Wang’s latest SS20 collection was an embrace of home. Drawing inspiration from her hometown in Southeastern Chin, Fujian; the garments were symbolic of the natural and made skills of those that work within the province. Weaving, dyeing and netting are all representative of workwear (labor intensive) that is prominent in the East; climate sensitive and accessible. The amalgamation of East and western aesthetics fuse to convey one cohesive message of craft and sustainability that the industry should take note from. From dyeing fabrics in daylight, to the use of bamboo to create architectural approved accessories. Every individual piece independent of each other some more sculptural and exaggerated silhouettes and other more fine, intricate yet the colour pallet played against the body to create depth and dimension.
