First look at Urban Outfitters and HANGER’s debut menswear collection

Soft utility, Japan-inspired streetwear and in-between season essentials.

Chokers, bodysuits and hyperbolic belts: cult London-based, Japanese-rootef label HANGER playfully toys with the worlds of cinema, fashion and futurism. Founded in 2013 by Claire Yurika Davis, the brand’s signature latex silhouettes have oft been inspired by fetishised fabrics and global girl gangs.

Ever pushing the boundaries of design, HANGER continues to explore new forms with their first menswear collection, to be launched exclusively on Urban Outfitters at the end of March.

“Urban Outfitters is the perfect fit for a first time launch of a HANGER menswear collection,” Claire Yurika Davis says. “I’ve always been asked when I’m doing menswear, so the answer is now! Being a young and contemporary brand, we felt our brand direction perfectly resonated with the Urban Outfitters audience and their ethos.”

Claire draws on her childhood as part of The Moonbies, otherwise known as ‘The Unification Church,’ a worldwide new religious movement founded in South Korea. Sweat is a key focus with the collection, with ‘SLEEPY CHAN’ emblazoned graphics, alongside wide fit trousers, padded vests, tees and printed jackets.

You can check out the collection below. The range drops this week in select Urban Outfitters stores and online, prices begin at £39 for tees and up to £320 for graphics jacket.
