Five new music artists to get to know this month

For your radar.

According to the internet, over one millions songs are released each year. That’s too many to listen to. If you’re struggling to keep up with all that’s new, check out this monthly feature of the best new artists to keep your eye on.

Sophie Meiers

Describing influences as diverse as “hip-hop, R&B, electronic, jazz, indie and more” Sophie Meiers is making the kind of low-key pop that is currently the toast if the internet underground. Stripped back and personal, the Colorado artist’s tracks are understated, personal and super chill.

Amsterdam-based Zanillya released “For You” last week. An undoubted crossover banger, the track combines late night club stylings with a lucid, sparkling chorus that sticks in the mind. Expect big coats and big tunes.

Loyal Lobos

Loyal Lobos is the moniker for Colombian-born, LA-based singer-songwriter Andrea Silva. Influenced by the hazy melancholy of Mazzy Star, the melodrama of Colombian telenovelas and her memories of childhood, Loyal Lobos will release her debut EP later this year.

Coming through with the late, late summer banger “Drunk and I Miss You”, KIDDO is bringing Major Lazer sound effects and supreme choruses to your speakers.
