Five style lessons to learn from Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Like most Brit 90s kids, my after-school TV schedule went as follows: Neighbours, The Simpsons, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air… and, finally, Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

Unlike the teen dramas du jour of the decade – Sweet Valley High, My So Called Life and Saved by the Bell – this was darker, funny and featured a badass female lead who would battle demons by night, whilst also looking chic AF (hurrah!). Forget grunge, skater, early streetwear vibes enjoying a fashion renaissance in 2k18 – vampire vigilante Buffy Summers was unapologetic about her femininity and love of cute tees, mini skirts and Cher Horowitz-worthy hair (with a dagger in hand, obvs). In need of some geek-chic costume inspo this Halloween? Let’s take a look back at the era-defining looks from Sunnydale High’s Scooby gang…
