Frank Ocean releases new music for ‘Channel Orange’ 10th anniversary

The elusive singer made an unexpected musical comeback.

Frank Ocean revealed new music in the latest episode of his Blonded Radio Apple Music 1 radio show on Sunday (10th July) — the same day that his album Channel Orange celebrated its 10th anniversary.

The first episode, titled ‘Blonded Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds’, was a conversation with Dr. James Fadiman about microdosing psychedelics. It features what’s described in a press release as “a thirty-five-minute original score produced by Frank Ocean.”

The second episode, called ‘blonded ENERGY!’, is an extended conversation with Mingtong Gu, who is a teacher of the Chinese practice of Qigong. That was also presented alongside some new Ocean music, which, towards the end, sped up a bit and ended with a captivating guitar solo. You can listen to the two episodes, here

New merch was also added to the musician’s online store, including Blonded Radio tees and a Channel Orange poster. Last December, Ocean shared an almost-nine-minute song on the programme, as part of the Christmas special. The episode also featured a conversation with Dutch motivational speaker and athlete Wim “The Iceman” Hof.

Ocean’s Channel Orange arrived in 2012, followed by his sophomore album Blonde in 2016. The artist has shared a few singles since then, including ‘DHL’ and ‘In My Room’. He also released ‘Cayendo’ and ‘Dear April’ on streaming services, with the tracks previously being vinyl exclusives.
