From Alexander McQueen to cosplaying as a bee – here’s what Beyoncé wore on night 1 of the ‘Renaissance’ tour

The star kicked off her tour in style with a three-hour-long set which included multiple costume changes.

Queen Bey is back. Beyoncé kicked off her Renaissance world tour in Sweden on Wednesday, and her stylish stage outfits didn’t disappoint.

Opening with the track ‘Dangerously In Love 2,’ the star showed off a familiar look to what we’ve seen before. Beyoncé rocked an Alexander McQueen catsuit with exaggerated hips, reminiscent of the iconic Thierry Mugler styles she donned during her ‘I Am’ tour in 2009.

Of course, Beyoncé had plenty of outfit changes throughout the three-hour-long performance, including a white bell-sleeved gown that transformed into a multicoloured masterpiece underneath a UV light.

Other standout looks included a pearl-embellished Balmain bodysuit, hat and sunglasses – a fitting pick for Beyoncé, who collaborated with the brand’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing, on a “wearable album” earlier this year.

She also wore a custom silver Courrèges bodysuit with a circular cutout and knee-high boots, a tie-dyed mesh mini-dress and a head-to-toe chrome getup. Queen Bey even transformed into an actual bee at one point, donning a black and yellow striped Mugler look with metal antennae.

The highly anticipated tour comes on the heels of Beyoncé’s January performance in Dubai, which marked her first time gracing the stage in four years. That night, the singer wore $7.5m worth of diamonds for the concert at the opening of Atlantis The Royal. As for the tour ahead, we’re sure Beyoncé will have some surprises up her sleeve.
