From Lady Gaga to Joan Collins, HUNGER charts the most iconic celeb cameos on ‘American Horror Story’

Kim Kardashian is about to kick off her acting career on AHS, and she won’t be the first as HUNGER returns to all the iconic cameos from the twelve seasons.

American Horror Story has a long list of icons that have been featured in the franchise. And they aren’t shy of pushing boundaries either, bringing singers and personalities onto the screen in their acting debuts. In this upcoming 12th season, it has been announced that reality star, entrepreneur, and pop culture icon Kim Kardashian will feature in a role specifically written for her.

Of course, we shall see the return of Emma Roberts, who is a frequent collaborator of the shows creator Ryan Murphy. This time around, the role written for Kardashian will be designed by Halley Feiffer who, in the first time in AHS history, is singlehandedly writing the entire script. Feiffer and Murphy have worked together before on Impeachment: American Crime Story, so it is almost certain that Kardashian is in good hands. Since her stint in 2021 as the guest host on Saturday Night Live, she has been in talks with Murphy about her TV debut – and where better than the iconic AHS?

Kardashian announced the news with a cryptic post to her Instagram, and the internet went wild with predictions of what her role may entail. But AHS is keeping it exclusively under wraps, and as per the show, there is truly no guessing what could happen this season. What we do know is that for the first time in its history, the series will be taking inspiration from Danielle Valentine’s upcoming novel ‘Delicate Condition’, aptly titling the season ‘Delicate’. The novel is described as a thriller that follows a female protagonist plagued by a sinister figure who is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens.

Though Kardashian has acted before (remember her in Disaster Movie?), this will be her biggest project to date. Although the news may feel like it has come out of the blue, it makes a lot of sense for AHS as their cast are full to the brim with A-Listers tapping into their horror acting careers. Here, HUNGER traces back over the most iconic cameos from stars in AHS, from Lady Gaga to Naomi Campbell to Patti LaBelle.

Naomi Campbell as a Vogue Editor

Top supermodel and one of fashion’s most recognisable faces Naomi Campbell featured in the fifth season of AHS as Vogue Editor Claudia Bankson. She definitely picked the wrong hotel to stay in that night, however, as she was stabbed to death in her sleep by heroin addict Gabriel, who was sewn into her mattress and used an icepick to end the icon’s stint.

Stevie Nicks as herself

When AHS writers were thinking about what part Fleetwood Mac member Stevie Nicks could play, the idea of a witch only seemed right. After all, with her haunting lyricism and rumours already swirling about her supernatural powers, the third season named ‘Coven’ was the perfect setting. Nicks played a supernatural version of herself known as the White Witch, whose lyrics could only be heard by other witches. We couldn’t have written it better ourselves.

Lady Gaga as the Countess

One of the most famous celeb stints on AHS had to be Lady Gaga, who portrayed the blood-sucking vampire, Countess, in ‘Hotel’, as well as the immortal witch Scathach in ‘Roanoke’. With a hypnotising presence on screen, the acting debut launched a career for her outside of the music industry, as she went on to take on leading roles in A Star Is Born, House of Gucci, and soon the upcoming Joker sequel with Joaquin Phoenix: a true multi-faceted icon.

Patti LaBelle as maid Dora Brown

The Grammy-award-winning musician Patti LaBelle guest starred on ‘Freak Show’, the fourth season of AHS. Playing Dora Brown, she fulfills the role of a maid to a twisted wealthy heir called Dandy Mott who is obsessed with a serial killer clown named Twisty. Poor Brown has to deal with a never-ending list of tasks from her bosses, but that doesn’t stop her from being murdered by them as the spoilt heir slashes her across the neck after she asks him to remove his clown outfit.

Jenna Dewan and Adam Levine as an unsuspecting couple

For the second season of AHS, ‘Asylum’, Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine and actress/ dancer Jenna Dewan played a couple trespassing on Briarcliff Manor. Levine’s character, Leo Morrison, romantically whisks his wife Dewan as Teresa Morrison to an abandoned sanitarium for the mentally ill. The two hooked up at the location when they suddenly hear a noise through a chute, where Levine’s arm is severed by a mysterious creature. Dewan leaves him bleeding out and runs into serial killer Bloody Face, where they eventually escape only to run into two more serial killers who shoot them dead. A honeymoon and cameo to remember.

Joan Collins as Evan Peters’ grandmother

Dame Joan Collins appeared in ‘Apocolypse’, the crossover season 8 of ‘Muder House’ and ‘Coven’. The actress, author, and columnist portrayed the grandmother of Mr. Gallant and witch Bubbles McGee as Evie Gallant. In a group of survivors after a nuclear holocaust, her big silver wig and perfectly salmon-coloured lips made the character her own. Perhaps AHS could inspire a KKW Beauty collab with Joan Collins?

Billy Porter as Behold Chablis

Starting as a Broadway star who ventured into a solo career as a singer and actor, Billy Porter is not shy about trying something new. Just another warlock seeking validation for his kind, the Emmy winner starred in ‘Apocalypse’ as Behold Chablis who was a teacher at the Hawthorn School who pushed Cody Fern’s character to become the Alpha of the coven.
