girl in red: Culture Picks
Are you a girl in red superfan? Same – which is why we asked the Norwegian musician to share her favourite films, tv shows and Instagram follows as part of her digital takeover. From 80s feel-good teen movies to BBC smash Normal People, these are the singer-songwriter’s culture picks.
TV: Normal People
Early lat year, I hadn’t been able to consume any type of art or film or go to a gallery because I just wasn’t interested in it, I wasn’t in a good place. When I saw [Normal People], I feel like it unlocked an emotional thing in me that had been locked for a long time. It moved me so much.
Film: 80s Coming Of Age Dramas
Instagram: @broke.and.bohemian
My friend has an Instagram that’s called @broke.and.bohemian. He’s travelling around the world all by himself with a very, very small budget and he’s just living his life to the absolute fullest. He has like, 520 followers, so I feel like more people should see the stuff that he’s doing because I think it’s really cool.
Film: The Worst Person In The World
I was actually just in New York for the New York Film Festival. I saw a movie that my friend stars in called The Worst Person In The World. I really, really liked that movie and right after I saw it, I was like, “I have to see this again.”
TV: Skins
Skins was pretty important to me when I was younger.I feel like that was probably really important to a lot of people and I saw that at a point in my life where I needed to see it.
Film: The Perks of Being a Wallflower
My favourite film has been the same for the past eight years, called The Perks of Being a Wallflower with Emma Watson. It’s weird to think that it’s been so long, I think it came out like nine years ago. I just really loved that movie.
Celebrity: Timothée Chalamet
Timothée Chalamet is such a great actor. I feel like he really loves acting and he’s all about acting. I just like anyone, really, that is doing their own thing and putting themselves out there.
Fashion: Goodwill
I just bought a bunch of new clothes the other day from Goodwill. I’m very much into clothes but I’m not that into the fashion industry. I like having unique pieces.
