Giuseppe Zanotti celebrates the King of Pop
“Razzle dazzle ’em” was a way of life for Michael Jackson, and it’s clearly the inspiration behind Giuseppe Zanotti’s one-of-a-kind MJ Tribute shoe. The Italian shoe maestro collaborated with Michael several times in his career, including designing the footwear for the ill-fated This Is It tour.
Launched last night in Las Vegas (of course) at a star-studded party hosted by The Estate of Michael Jackson to celebrate what would have been the icon’s 60th birthday – the “Number One” sneaker is for those who like to live life off the wall.
It’s a one-of-a-kind design featuring 120 black diamonds, 55 rubies, and silver buckles nodding to MJ’s signature extravagance and is expected to reach $30,000-$50,000 at auction, with all proceeds going to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.
A limited edition capsule collection has also launched featuring the MJ Tribute sneaker in three colour options: black, white and silver – all embellished with Swarovski crystals.
