Gmoney just wore a cryptopunk NFT at fashion week

The metaverse is apparently closer than ever...

Gmoney — the NFT influencer, who famously paid 140 Ether (around $170,000) for a CryptoPunk avatar — has shown off his NFT on the Prada front row.

In what was a rather surreal EVENT, the Puerto Rico based investor showed up in Milan sporting his record breaking NFT. It may be a game-changing move as high fashion and digital fashion continue to intersect.

Prada, it seems, has been trying to stay ontop of shifting trends in recent years. Earlier this year, the luxury fashion house launched The Prada Bucket Challenge on Tiktok. The viral campaign involved the brand challenging people to “show your Prada side” by wearing the item, and the brand then recruited some of the platform’s most popular creators to advertise it. It appears to be a lucrative partnership, as Prada recently flew out the same TikTok stars to attend their show in Milan.

Over the weekend, Gmoney who is a general partner of NFT investment firm, Delphi INFINFT, took to Twitter and Instagram to share photos of himself in Milan and at the Prada FW22 show, wearing his NFT. Pictured in front of the Duomo di Milano, he simply captioned the image, “Buongiorno.”

On January 15, the fashion house responded to the image with the eyes emoji. Prada, it seems, is definitely in on the game — and it looks like this is not the first luxury-NFT crossover we will see in 2022.
