Harry Styles fans rejoice – his Marvel Starfox character is set to return to the big screen

Who could say no to seeing the actor in a little more spandex?

There’s seemingly nothing Harry Styles can’t do. Pop superstardom? Easy. Rambunctious lead actor? Check that off too. Even his 30-second cameo in the MCU’s Eternals had us all clamouring for more, and thankfully, looks like he’s set to add ‘intergalactic superhero’ to his already glowing CV.

Eternals was a relative box office flop by Marvel’s standards, but the one shining light was the surprise appearance from the former One Directioner. Of course, one of the planet’s biggest stars would never be relegated to the role of an insignificant easter egg. Styles will be getting a hell of a lot more screen time in an upcoming Marvel project, explained super producer Kevin Feige at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend.

When quizzed by MTV News if the popstar would find himself under the limelight, the producer simply replied “yes” – which is quite frankly all we really needed to hear.

Styles’ swift appearance in Eternals was arguably the best moment in the flick, he plays the role of Eros (AKA Starfox), the brother of planet-destroying, weirdly likeable, Thanos – the massive purple hunk who held the world’s most impressive gem collection. Now, you’re probably wondering why music’s golden child looks nothing like their big bald sibling, which is a fair point, but trust us; they are related. The two share the same parents, but according to comic book lore, Thanos was affected by a deviant gene, resulting in the colourful monster that takes up half the screen. Luckily, Starfox wasn’t affected, so he kept his dashing good looks in check. Thankfully so, as a purple hulkish Harry would probably result in the weirdest fanfiction ever produced.

An Eternals sequel is yet to be confirmed, although one of its stars, Patton Oswalt, seemingly broke the news that one is in the works – with Oscar winner Chloé Zhao taking the reins once again. “They have announced there’s going to be an Eternals sequel,” the actor said on The Today Show. “Chloé Zhao is going to direct it. So, hopefully, there will be more adventures of Starfox and Pip.”
