Hip dips, fupas and downturned breasts: Fenty mannequins are the body positivity we needed

Rihanna's second Fenty season were displayed on mannequins with meaty thighs, hip dips and love handles. Yass Queen!

In light of the release of Fenty part 2; the stateside drop was nothing short of admirable- for many reasons. The collection embodied less Parisian chic than the first, with its structural silhouettes, neutral tones, cinching and refined jewelry; the second installment oozes more Badgal RiRi than corporate Rih. Playful colour schemes of amber, canary and hot pink; the clothes were figure hugging, ruched, bum-grazing and very backless. Very NYC party girl cool.

The See-now- buy now- collection is just as genius as the mannequins on display. As a lover of designer fashuns, but also privy to a good Fashionova fit, wondering how a luxury brand favours hip dips, slightly sagging breasts (okay, fine, they’ve sagged), meaty thighs, big bums, under arm fat- you know, regular petty problems that all women (and men) experience. Rihanna, yet again, trailblazing and proving that regular bodies buy in to fashion, black people buy in to fashion and no, inclusivity isn’t a dirty word.
