HUNGER PREMIERE: Introducing the genre defying singer-songwriter, Carmen Marie

Introducing Carmen Marie, the amalgamation of a genre-defying singer-songwriter hailing from Streatham, South East London, where her emotive honesty and rawness distinguishes her as an artist. With influences heavily drawn to RnB, Jazz and Neo-Soul, Carmen’s soulful vocals and personal capture of ‘melodic alternative slow jams’ give the ever-evolving singer the ambiguity beyond that of a conventional artist.

‘Soul Ties’ is Carmen’s highly anticipated EP, each track is a beautifully smooth and soulful reminder to self-love. Carmen told HUNGER: “(Soul Ties) Is written about the deep connection we have in relationships, and even once that relationship has ended. When you may no longer be physically attached to that person but can’t seem to shake them off emotionally or spiritually.

It was also written to remind ourselves that when we are in relationships it is important to love yourself and live as individuals, so that when you find that someone, you don’t lose yourself.”
