HUNGER PREMIERE: Marques Martin makes experimental rap in ‘About 2 Die’

PG County, Maryland born, this New York rapper is ready to make a name for himself with his genuine creativity and soulful sound. Taking down expectations and genre boundaries, Marques Martin initial offering experiments with the nature of rap, writing a track that’s utterly relevant and wildly bold.

As artistic as he is musical, Martin launched a snippet of ‘About 2 Die’ at cult Chinese pop artist Jacky Tsai’s new exhibition launch in London at Unit Gallery last week, echoing the close ties the rapper has already made to the art scene. The new track blends his vast influences in his first single, and makes thoughtful acerbic social commentary, proving him to be a definite 2019 one to watch.
